This weeks assignment is to add about five articles, or pod casts/video to a database for the whole class to have use from. I was not smart enough to sign my work there so i add what i have written here.
Walker, Jill 2003 “Fiction and interaction how clicking a mouse can make you part of a fictional world”
This article is really a PhD work so it is much longer than an article. But the pages about Addressing the reader is worth reading because it talks about what expectations we have to the interaction with the online environment, and the things we take for granted. The article breaks it down into terms that makes it easer to analyse this relation. I add this article into the database with my own assignment in mind. Other who plan top do any analyse of commercial and political ads might have use of this.
Addressing the reader’ Is about how the ‘you’ is used in text. And how this is meant to affect you. The different kinds of ‘you’ is demonstrated in a model. the model contains an analyse of what kind of different actors there is in a text, and in the interaction of the text.
She also speaks of the willing suspension of disbelief. This is a term used to describe what there is a big distance between the real you, and the you in the text (or game). Letting you, pretend to be the text/game you for as long as you want. Taking on a role as the one refered to in the text.

Electronic frontier Foundation. “Fair use frequently asked questions (and answers)”
The EFF electronic frontier foundation is a group who works with and for rights and citizenship in a digital sphere. They are a non-profit organisation and is known for their point of view on copyright. The article is a summary of do and don’t s when it comes to fair use. Fair use is a way of being able to discuss items that is under copyright without paying for it. This right is different from country to country, but as Unites states of America is known to have very aggressive lawyers, knowing what is fair use and what’s not, can be very useful when publishing online at services as Youtube. Do remember that the possibility of what’s fair use is under constant test and trials from very different interest organisations. The interpretation done in this article might be more liberal than others. And the interpretation done is a bit back.
(I messed up the form on some refresh-ting so it got added several times. And my spell check didn’t work in google docs. So I Plan on adding it again.)
Rettberg, Scott. 2007. “Dada redux:Elements of Dadaist Practice in Contemporary Electronic literature”
This article Rettberg takes a look at digital publishing of videos, and remix culture in a art perspective. He compares the remix culture with the dada culture of 1916-1920. The dada culture made anti-art, art that did not fit or was inconsistent with the idea of what art was suppose to be, or how it was to be presented. It was art made for the ones experiencing it, the context and the viewer was important. This features with the dada culture is similar to the remix culture Scott points out. He claims that remix and online videos often are experiences by the public and critics before it is put in an art context of an gallery or exhibition. Even if digital art is later on curated this is not the most significant feature of the art form. Digital culture relation with the concepts or random, collage and abstract is also a significant feature of the art forms.

(I did NOT see this article was syllabi before adding it. I know, the opposite of smart.)
(This part is a rant)
The forth of my intended contributions was a book I wanted to order. It was tagged with ethic and image. And I hoped to be about how an image is represented, and some theory about how we experience images, and possible ethical dilemmas in publishing and context of an image or a motive. However the reference is lost to me (I wasn’t signed in when adding it to my list. bah). It is a part of the collection the library needs you to be on campus to actually search through. I’m struggling, I don’t seem to have enough of the right terms to use for search. Or something else is up, because I only get 1, 0 or around 3 hits when I search. And if I knew what I was doing I should probably get more. So I give up for now. Tomorrow is a better day, and I’ll be on campus at least.
